Creative Ways for Displaying and Saving your Child's Schoolwork/Artwork

Now that school has started for most of us, the agonizing question will be "What to do with all of that school work!"  I admit that I am a schoolwork hoarder.  Why I have saved everything up to this point I have no idea, but what I do know is that you no longer have to throw it on the refrigerator.  There are are some really creative ways to preserve and display your child's work.  I know for my son, he was always so proud when he would see his work displayed around the house.

Let me show you some of the creative ways I have found to display your child's artwork.

Scan the artwork and make it into a collage....This is one of my favorites!

Would you like a clutter free way to save all the work your child comes home with.  Will look no further.  Artkive is an app that lets you take a picture of your child's work, save it, categorize it and at the end of the year you can make a photo book of a whole years work.  No need to save every piece of work that comes home.  Is that not amazing!  I have started using it and love it.  It is a free app that you can download here.

No One "Stacks" Up To You....Teacher Gift Idea

Today I wanted to share another cute Teacher gift idea with you that is so simple and practical.  I was in Home Goods (Home Sense in the states) the other day and came across these stackable acrylic trays that were a set of 2 for $3.99.  I snagged a few for gifts and a few for my office drawer at home and came up with this cute idea for a quick and easy Teacher gift that will not only be yummy, but the trays can be re used!!!

Here are the trays before I opened them.....

Empty tray ready to be filled.....

I first printed a note and gave them some suggestions on how to re use the tray once the candy was gone.  I used clear tape and adhered it to the bottom tray.

Bottom tray was filled with Peanut M & M's.......

Middle tray was filled with assorted candy bar minis......

Top tray was filled with plain M & M's........

Made a cute note with my Silhouette Cameo.......

Tied it all together with some clear cellophane and assorted ribbon.....

******************************

School starts here tomorrow and I'm not sure what I going to do with my time.  I will miss my little man being at home with me!

Have a great week......

Desk in a Box....Back to School Time

I still can't believe that summer is over and we will be starting school on Tuesday.  Just a little over two months ago on June 20th our city and school were hit by the most catastrophic flood in Alberta's history.  Our school was flooded from the basement to the first level and all of the classrooms in the basement lost EVERYTHING....our Montessori classrooms, music room, library...all GONE.  As a result, the last two months at our school have been busy rebuilding for the start of the school year.  It won't be a hundred percent, but we are all excited to get the year going and to start learning.  Our parent volunteer committee put together a cute idea for those teachers that lost everything in their desk....it would be called a....

"Desk in a Box"

I was so happy to help out, but instead of a shoebox, I put my supplies in a box that could be personalized and re-used (and mainly because everything I bought would not fit in a shoebox).

I purchased this box from Michaels for about $10.00.....

Following are the contents of each box......

Rulers, Wet Ones, Erasers, Paper Clips, Binder Clips, Glue, Post It Notes, Write Out, Tape, Scissors, Erasers, Pencils, Pens, Highlighters, Dry Erase Markers

Febreeze, Nail Kit, Kleenex, Starbucks Instant Drink, Water Bottle, Sewing Kit, Tide Stain Out Wipes, Band Aids, Travel Toothbrush, Vitamin C Drops, Mints, Safety Pins, Toothpaste, Lotion, Hand Sanitizer, Lanyard

I used my Silhouette Cameo to personalize some of the items.  I used the top of the lid to identify which teacher was getting the box and the water bottle and notebook were personalized with their initial.

After everything was monogrammed I put it all into the box.....

Added another vinyl quote to the front....

Put a bow on it and delivered it to the school.....

I made two boxes because of the two fabulous teachers he had last year.....

Have a great week!!!
